INTRODUCTION

There never has been a day, since the days of Naoh, that required the faith, energy, and wisdom of godly men and women as require at the present time. There never was the necessity for the power of the Almighty to be with them as there is today. There never has been a time on the face of the earth, from the time of that great flood, that the powers of darkness, and the powers of earth and hell were so embittered, enraged, and incensed against God and godliness, as in these end times. And there never has been a time, in all the history of the world, as this period in which we now live, when all the prophecies concerning the last days, the end times, are all coming together. Yet people as a whole, as they continue on in their lethargic ignorance, appear to be spiritually blind to the fact that something is terribly wrong; and this includes ALL the so-called “Christian” denominations.

Like the people of Sodom and Gomorrah, people are blinded by their turning to the pleasures of entertainment, sports, popular news media, and the philosophies of men, instead of listening to the whisperings of the Holy Spirit and delighting in God, their Creator. They are heading down the road of vast destruction. Why? Because they have bought the lies of man, and have believed them for so long that it seems to have become part of their DNA makeup; to the point, so much, that it appears few have any capacity for recognizing the truth.
These United States, a nation supposedly “under God,” is a prime example of such lies. We regularly go to church and preach the Bible while, at the same time, sit back and let government steal our money through an immoral tax system to promote and fund homosexuality, pornography, graft, gambling, prostitution, warmongering, the murdering of innocent babies by abortion, the passing of unconstitutional and constrictive laws, and a vast amount of other evils. To all of this we close our eyes, and like the proverbial ostrich with its head in the sand, believing that, if we don’t like what is going on, it will soon go away. But it won’t!
Satan has an agenda because he knows God’s time-line, and the adversary is stepping up his action to bring the whole world under his control. The instrument for our destruction appears to have hands of “lily-white”as the people of the entire human race are being slowly and seductively moved toward a “One World Government” — the “New World Order” — governed through the United Nations; and that New World Order is, in truth, to be presided over by a One World Pagan Religion with Lucifer presiding over it through his “antichrist” here on earth.
In God’s eyes, there is but only TWO churches: one is the Church of God, and the other is the church of the devil. You can’t belong to both. Whoever doesn’t belong to the church of the Lamb of God, belongs to the great church of the devil. If you belong to one, you do not belong to the other. It is as plain and simple as that, regardless of religious affiliation.
As we study the subject at hand, we will find that there is a grand secret combination, or conspiracy, designed to take over every aspect of life, religion, government, business, education, etc. You name it, and it’s included.
Today, because of mass censorship and control over the news media, it is rare to find those who know anything about the ancient conspiracy and how it relates to our time, and the unwillingness of the general population to even consider such a possibility. And very few will dare speak above a whisper of the all-encompassing oppression of mankind that is being advanced by the wolves in sheep clothing we have in leadership positions in all aspects of life, be they governmental, religious, business, education, or whatever.
The search for truth is often met with violent opposition, and the violent inquisition of the Roman Catholic Church was used to stamp out truth. That Church was not interested in truth, otherwise it would have used it to prove their cause.
We will not be going to mince words, and that which I am going to give you, in some detail, will be somewhat shocking to the masses of the believers who follow Catholicism; some will even become furious, which will not be surprising. But it is time that the information is given.
However, considering the combined theme of the studies presented, they are not intended to “bash” Catholic lay-people, nor to breed contempt or hate for any of its members. It is strictly for information purposes, and to warn people of their past connection with old Babylon, its continuing Pagan beliefs and practices, its persisting desire to control the world, and the Jesuit Order’s involved in that pursuit. We must remember that there are many true servants of Jesus Christ in the Catholic Church; many devoted and fine people. Therefore, we must be careful to point out that it is the organization, or structure, not the individuals that God hates and against whom He has prophesied.
That said, it is this authors firm belief that Catholicism is NOT Christianity but paganism, meaning non-Christian. That Church has little to do with the “professed” belief in Jesus Christ, which is only a facade for show and deception, and has more to do with Pagan ideals, rituals, philosophies, traditions, and the like.
As Alexander Hislop said in his book, The Two Babylons, I would also like to state, “In leading proof of the Babylonian character of the Papal Church the first point to which I solicit the reader’s attention, is the character of MYSTERY which attaches alike to the modern Roman and the ancient Babylonian systems.”
Also, I would like to offer another quote from Hislop’s book; a book put forth to show proof that Roman Catholicism’s practices and beliefs came from pagan Babylonian religion, and not from Jesus or His Apostles of the Holy Bible. In starting out Chapter II, he says:
“If there be this general coincidence between the systems of Babylon and Rome, the question arises, Does the coincidence stop here? To this the answer is far otherwise. We have only to bring the ancient Babylonian Mysteries to bear on the whole system of Rome and then it will be seen how immensely the one has borrowed from the other. These Mysteries were long shrouded in darkness, but now the thick darkness begins to pass away. All who have paid the least attention to the literature of Greece, Egypt, Phenicia, or Rome are aware of the place which the Mysteries occupied in these countries, and that, whatever circumstantial diversities there might be, in all essential respects these Mysteries in the different countries were the same. Now as the language of Jeremiah ... would indicate that Babylon was the primal source from which all these systems of idolatry flowed, so the deductions of the most learned historians, on mere historical grounds, have led to the same conclusion.”
We can study secret societies and conspiracies all we want, but if the issue of the Roman Catholic Church and their infamous Jesuit Order is not addressed, it is like, as one person put it, riding a merry-go-round — you stay awfully busy, but you go nowhere. The same applies to the disaster on September the 11th, 2001, when the twin towers of the New York Trade Center came down, and there was the so-called attack upon the Pentagon. The real issue is NOT: Should we invade Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, or whatever? The real issues are: What really brought down the twin towers on 9/11, and what really happened at the Pentagon? When those questions are honestly answered, as ample evidence exhibits, then it will be found that any invasion of another country, based upon the 9/11 pretext, is totally unjustifiable; demonstrating that such invasions must be based upon some other agenda. And when we consider the possibility of another agenda, then the question is not only what truly happened on 9/11, but what is that other agenda and who is behind it. These are the real questions — questions which will, with a little study, take us back to the first sentence at the top of this paragraph.
Galileo (who first demonstrated the use of the telescope) once said, “All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered; the point is to discover them.” Being confronted with truth can be very uncomfortable for many. Their resistance, opposition, indifference, or chosen ignorance towards that truth is only their way of protecting themselves from the threat of any discomfort. Some call this state of being, “comfortable complacency.” So as you read further, please try to keep an open mind and realize that, any initial adverse reaction has been conditioned over years of newspaper and television exposure to half-truths and outright lies. What you’re about to read just might shock you.
As we begin our journey into the search for the roots of paganism, it must be understood that any such effort is based, at best, upon legends, myths, and sketchy historical accounts. This is not to say that all legends and myths are not factual, nor that ancient history cannot be accurate. Nonetheless, the further we go back into history the more difficult it is to uncover fact from fiction.
One of the reasons for this difficulty of discerning fact from fiction is the “smokescreen” concept. As many understand, during wartime a smokescreen has often been used to hide the movement of troops; and so it is with the power behind the great conspiracy that is attempting to dominate the entire world, and every soul upon the planet. In this case the smokescreen may consist of a “fall-guy” or a “front organization” that can be blamed for whatever is happening, or what has happened. This is where much disbelief can arise, that is, when confronted with the fact that a single person or organization has been used as a cover to hide the real culprit. Jack Chick wrote a small book addressing this very subject entitled, Smokescreens. And in it he uncovers some of those “fall-guys” and “front organizations.” For example:
Nazi Germany’s Adolph Hitler, Italy’s Benito Mussolini, and Spain’s General Francisco Franco were used as a continuation of the Inquisition by the Roman Catholic Church; they get the blame for any atrocities while the Vatican goes free. And did you know it was the Vatican Jesuits who created that infamous Communist party for the purpose of overthrowing the Czar of Russia and the Russian Orthodox Church, for the purpose of bringing that church back under Roman influence once again? For that purpose there was the Russian Revolution that installed Communism as its form of government. Communism being the smokescreen to hide the Pope’s true intentions.
When the heat was on Pope Pius XII for being responsible for WWII, they needed a “scapegoat,” so they used their own creation, the Communist, as that shield. Their Jesuit mastery over Hollywood was utilized to come out with a rash of secret spy films involving the bad Communists; any religious oriented movies always depicted the Catholic Priest as a good guy (such as in “The Bells of St. Mary’s” and “Going My Way”) while, at the same time, depicting any Protestant preacher as a money-grabbing immoral rascal (as in “Elmer Gantry”); and they created the John Birch Society, and other similar groups of American patriot organizations, to switch American thinking that Communism is the cause of all the ills in the world — thus, taking the focus off the Vatican.
On May 1, 1776, just two months prior to the signing of the American Declaration of Independence, Adam Weishaupt, a Jesuit Jew, began the Illuminati; an order designed to infiltrate governments, religions, and various other organizations, such as the Freemasons, for the purpose of overthrowing the world. The Illuminati means “enlightenment,” or “the enlightened ones,” with the “eternal flame” as one of its symbols, such as the one being held by the Statue of Liberty, or the one endlessly burning at President Kennedy’s grave. So, as one gets rather close to discovering what or who is behind some evil event, the Illuminati is often used as the “front organization” which gets the blame, instead of the Jesuits.
Lee Harvey Oswald was used as the “fall-guy” for the Kennedy assassination to cover up the Jesuit controlled CIA involvement; and, of course, we know who got the blame for the monstrous 9/11 attack upon the Twin Towers in New York City. It was the Islamic nations, used as a smokescreen, to cover the fact that it was an inside U.S. government job directed from the Vatican. And these smokescreens goes on, and on, and on.
Surprised at all of this? I don’t blame you for being surprised, but smokescreening and surprising the uninformed is what Satan is good at. And why is the world left relatively uninformed? It’s because of their massive control over every major news media and the biggest publishing houses, which include ALL the “approved” text books used in the American school system, colleges and universities.
As I dug into my research of data available, I found that much of it agrees with one another in substance, and some didn’t. However, what was uncovered, although there still remains questions, was a preponderance of evidence and patterns that exist that helps substantiate the premises and conclusions drawn. So what is presented here is an honest attempt to examine such information and present what appears to be fact instead of fiction, considering the time difference of about 4500 years or so.
With these papers, I am offering what I believe to be important and valuable information that is essential to understanding what is transpiring in the world today. God gave man an intellect and the faculty to discern truth by the Holy Spirit, if he will but use that gift. And although the following may be presented in an imperfect manner, it is my hope that the reader will draw upon that Spirit to discern the elements of truth contained herein, and pursue their own personal research to determine the facts when he or she may have any questions regarding such content.
Fortunately, today, the Internet helps facilitate that research to a great extent. Indeed, the reason more people have not been privy to this information is because of difficulty in obtaining it due to media control. And even though a few people might have had access to this knowledge, they had not the means of disseminating that knowledge. Within the last few years, the Internet has changed all of that; and that is why government is threatening to regulate the Internet — to keep the news media under further control. So, when questioning what you read, and while you still can, “Google” your own research. And with all the philosophies of men, mingled with truth and scripture, use your God-given discernment, guided by the Holy Spirit, to help you discern that truth.
This book is composed of a series of individual studies made over the years. As the reader travels from one study to another, he or she will sometimes discover, in one study, the same thought and, sometimes, the exact wording or picture illustration as contained in another. That is because each study was completed at a different time and meant to stand alone and independent of the others. Besides, certain thoughts or ideas can support more than one theory.
Also, when I decided to place these studies in a single volume, I wrote another study or two for the purpose of rounding out the subject-matter. But in each of these studies, too, I did not refrain from using previous applied material for the sake of having that individual study stand alone. So I kindly ask that you please forgive any inconsistencies and redundancies.
Where possible, all references to other works will be cited. However, there may be instances where I fail to give credit where credit might be due. If such be the case, it will not be for the purpose of plagiarizing the works of others as being my own. Under any such circumstance, I sincerely beg forgiveness of any I might offend by such neglect, and due credit goes to the originator of the information presented. At times, internet web sites will be offered as citations, as well. However, sometimes Web Sites are discontinued by their owner, and relative URLs may not be operable for that reason; as of this writing, though, the sites offered are in operation. In addition, many illustrations are used throughout the work. The sources of some illustration have been lost over time and, therefore, may not be offered. For such I beg forgiveness, as well, for it is not my intention not give credit where credit is due.
At this time, however, I will give credit to www.chick.com from which I have obtained much information and many of the illustrations used throughout this work. Their publication can be obtained at that URL. The mention of “Chick” is not intended to slight anyone or subvert attention from many other good Web Sites and sources of information; but because these papers were done separately, over time, many of those citations have been lost, as previously stated. When interested, the reader is encouraged to do their own research on the subjects of interest.
Also, the views expressed in this work are my own and are not intended to reflect or represent the views of any particular religion.
This book of studies is not the last word on the subject, for there are many other authors and historians who have examined the evidence and have written and published much upon the topic. Nevertheless, that which is presented will help give a clear understanding of why the world is gradually moving towards that One World Pagan Religion, destined to seductively control literally every aspect of the entire human race — destined, unless our Lord, Jesus the Christ, intervenes, as He has promised He will do. And that which He promises — He does. Time is the question for the Lord’s intervention, not the outcome.

Study 1:
Historical Roots of Religion

In the book of Revelation, the Apostle John wrote about a corrupt religious system he called, “MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH” (Rev. 17:5). John said that this great pagan religious system would be in control of the world during the tribulation period at the end times. He knew that this fraudulent religion existed since the beginning of time. In our quest to identify this “Mystery Religion,” we need to go back to its roots — back near the opening of the Old Testament – back to Genesis Chapters 10 and 11.

Since what is presented deals with God’s work, and Satan’s attempt to thwart that work, we will consider the Holy Scriptures as a beginning, realizing that not all ancient history is contained therein. Regarding biblical accounts, we find that our study starts just after Noah and his family survived the great deluge, just after God cleansed the earth from its previous satanic influences. It will lead us to three of the most important figures in this earth’s pagan history, that of Nimrod, Semiramis, and Tammuz. It can safely be said that any attempt to discover the roots of paganism will eventually lead back to these three figures. They were the unholy pagan types of things to come.

The First Settlements
As the book of Genesis records, Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japhet
h. Noah and sons, and their wives, boarded the ark to survive the flood. The ark of Noah finally came to rest on the northern slopes of Mt. Ararat, in a land known today as Armenia. This small country is situated in a region between both the Black and the Caspian Seas, and borders Turkey, Iran, Azerbaijan, and Georgia. Mt. Ararat overlooks the point where Turkey, Iran, and Armenia come together.

After the flood waters sufficiently receded, Noah and his family left the Ark and began to settle in diverse areas. As the various families grew, people began to spread further and further apart from one another. Most likely, part of this dispersion was due to differences in personality and spiritual makeup of the dissimilar families.

Turning to Genesis 9:20-23, we find a story of Noah becoming drunk and uncovered within his tent. They tell of Ham, the father of Canaan, who upon seeing his father’s nakedness goes and tells his two other brothers who, in turn, took a garment and covered up their father’s nakedness. Th
ere is an old Hebrew explanation of what really occurred here; it is a metaphorical account of Ham rejecting the priesthood and righteousness of his father, Noah.

Noah, mindful of what Ham had done, gave Shem and Japheth what is known as a father’s prophetic patriarchal blessing wherein he pronounced, “Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren. And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant. God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant” (Gen. 9:24-27). Here Canaan, one of the sons of Ham, was cursed to be a servant to both of Ham’s brothers; they are destined to become servants to the posterity of both Shem and Japheth. We notice that Shem received the greater portion of the blessing, in that Japheth is to dwell in the tents of Shem, while Ham received the lesser blessing, that of being a servant to the other two. So here we have three differences in personality and spiritual makeup of the offspring of Noah. So, as stated, the dispersion of people after the flood was, most likely, due to their differences in spiritual values and personality makeup.

Many of Noah’s posterity migrated all around the Middle East, but a large percentage settled in what is called the “fertile Crescent.” Referred to as Sumer, Sumeria, or the land of Shinir, this regio
n lies around the area of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers that flow down into, what is known today as, the Persian Gulf.

Righteous Shem
It is noted that Shem, the righteous son of Noah, lived for 500 years after the flood, for a total of 600 years. He produced five sons, Elam, Asshur, Arphaxad, Lud, and Aram. It is historically understood that, the portion of the earth occupied by Shem’s descendants begins at its northwestern extremity of Lydia with Lud, Syria with Aram, Chaldea with Arphaxad, Assyria with Asshur, Persia with Elam, and the Arabian peninsula with Joktan, the son of Eber, great-grandson of Shem, and father of the Joktanite Arabs. Modern scholars have given the name of Shemitic or Semitic to the languages spoken by Shem’s descendants.

By close study of Genesis we learn that Shem outlived all of his posterity which came through his son, Arphaxad, including Abraham of the 9th generation, except for his great-grandson, Eber, who died 29 years after Shem. All three of the Patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Israel) all
lived during the lifetime of Shem. Shem lived during the entire 175 years of Abraham’s life, during the first 110 years of Isaacs 180 years, and during the first 50 years of Jacobs 147 years. Abraham was born before Noah’s death, and the first 58 years of Abraham’s life was during those same last years of Noah’s.

There has been much speculation as to, WHO IS the mysterious Melchizedek? Since logic tells us that not all historical knowledge is contained in the Bible, seeing that over 4,000 years of earth’s history are contained in just a few pages of the Old Testament, let’s put on our thinking caps, and use the reasoning ability God gave us.

From Genesis 14:18-20 we read: “And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God. And he [Melchizedek] blessed him [Abram], and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth: And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine [Abram’s] enemies into thy hand. And he [Abram] gave him [Melchizedek] tithes of all.”

It is logical to expect that Shem was the most notable one on the earth; he being the eldest son of Noah and, most likely, the most righteous. At the same time, Melchizedek was king of Salem
, and we know from biblical history that Salem, meaning “peace,” was the former name for Jerusalem, which also means, “the habitation of peace.” Melchizedek was not only king of Jerusalem, but apparently a unique and righteous individual, holding a special high order of the holy priesthood. This must be so because Jesus received an honorary calling designated after him: He, Jesus, “Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.” (Hebrews 5:10.) It is reasonable, then, that as righteous as Abraham was, he would pay tithes to and seek a blessing from one more honored of God and of a higher spiritual rank than himself. That person was Shem, the prince of peace, king of Salem, the one known as Melchizedek. Smith Bible Dictionary also addresses this idea when saying that, “Jewish tradition pronounces Melchizedek to be a survivor of the deluge, the Patriarch Shem” (p. 394).

It was at Salem/Jerusalem that Abraham was willing to offer Isaac up as an offering (Gen. 22), and it was also at Salem/Jerusalem that his grandson, Jacob, had his dream of the ladder that reached unto Heaven and received a covenant-promise from the Lord concerning his posterity (Gen. 28). Ther
efore, considering the age of Shem when he died in relation to his posterity as we studied above, it should be obvious that this great triad of Patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob dwelled in the same close geographic vicinity as Melchizedek, or Shem. Thus we can see that it is very possible that all three, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob could have been righteously and spiritually tutored of God by way of Shem, and Abraham could have, also, sat at the feet of that great Prophet, Noah.

The Cushites
With this little bit of information behind us, the majority of our focus, for a while, will be upon one of Noah’s other sons and his posterity, that of Ham. Other religious and historical accounts, other than the Holy Bible, tell us that because of his rebellion against his Father, Ham, along with his posterity, was denied the priesthood of Noah, which priesthood was bestowed upon Shem. Genesis 10:6
lets us know that Ham had four sons, Cush, Mizraim, Phut, and Canaan. Other historical accounts tell us that Ham also had a daughter named Egyptus. Her eldest son was named Pharaoh who established the first government of Egypt, which in the Chaldean means “that which is forbidden.” Having been denied the priesthood, he established a worship system with a “false” priesthood, for his posterity to follow. This worship system was first patterned after Noah’s worship, but eventually fell victim to the Satanic influences of his cousin Nimrod’s paganistic religion. So let’s turn our attention to that line of Ham, which will be our focus.

Ham’s son, Cush, settled in the area known as Ethiopia. However, Cush and his family were a progressive people, and it wasn’t long before they traveled up into the area of Shinir, the region of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. And it is believed by many historians that this is the place where the people of Cush originally settled.

The earliest Babylonian legends tell of a formidable people who came up through Arabia and established an empire. This master ring leader, Cush, led the people away from the true God unto another form of religion, eventually receiving the title as the “interpreter of the gods.” It was in this same a
rea, the ancient city of Babel to be specific, that false pagan religion had its origin. Eventually, from there, this same satanically influenced religion spread down through history, adopting various forms and names as it traveled far and wide.

Nimrod the Rebellious
Cush’s son, Nimrod, became know as a mighty hunter AGAINST the Lord; hence the proverb, “Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter before the Lord.” (Gen. 10:9.) Nimrod was born 252 years after the flood and was the grandson of Ham, and great-grandson of Noah. Although the people of Cush may have been the original inhabitants of Sumeria, the land of Shinir, it was still his son, Nimrod, who brought Babylon to a kingdom of power.

Much imaginative speculation surrounds Nimrod. The better commentators have always known who Nimrod was, and they can be relied upon to provide a sound analysis of his role in political development in the Bible. Surprisingly, Nimrod was involved far more in politics than he was in “religion.”

The first thing the Bible tells us about Nimrod is his name, and thus his character. Biblical names are more than just “Dick and Jane”; they tell us about the real person. What does the name, Nimrod, mean? The name means “rebellion” or “the valiant.” Leupold, a conservative Christian commentator, is
combined with others who note that Nimrod’s name must be considered when we interpret the Biblical verses, Genesis 10:8-12.

“The course that our interpretation of these two verses takes will be determined very largely by the meaning of the word Nimrod. For the meaning of the verbform nimrodh, without a doubt, is let us revolt. ... The tendency of this Cushite must have been to rise up against, and to attempt to overthrow, all existing order. In fact, he must have used this motto so frequently in exhorting others to rebellion, that finally it was applied to him as a name descriptive of the basic trait of his character. ... So this inciter to revolt (Nimrod) came to be the first tyrant upon the earth, oppressing others and using them for the furtherance of his own interests.”

“The name itself, Nimrod from (marad, see Strong’s #4775) ‘we will revolt,’ points to some violent resistance to God.” (Kiel and Delitzsch, 1888)

“The name of Nimrod is usually derived from (marad), to rebel, because he
was a rebel against God, as is generally said, and because, as Jarchi observes, he caused all the world to rebel against God, by the advice he gave to the ... builders of Babel.” (John Gill, 1763)

In understanding what the Bible says about Nimrod, we must understand the situation in which Nimrod found himself. As with Cain, Nimrod was a member of a family, and the human race had three progenitors living among them, Shem, Ham, and Japeth, from one family and from one ark. It is certain, therefore, that Nimrod would have known of his place in the household of Noah. Nimrod knew where God had established earthly authority. There was no “religion,” no “church,” nor was there a political “State.” God had constituted the family as the bearer of earthly authority. Nimrod was a part of this structure, and one of the first things we are told about Nimrod is that he was a man characterized by rebellion against God and God’s established order.

Nimrod: Creator of Political Governments
According to Genesis Eleven, and along with crude history, Nimrod set out to accomplish three things. (1) He wanted to make a name for himself, which he did; (2) He wanted to build a strong nation, which he did; and (3) He wanted to propagate his own religion, which he certainly did. In the pr
ocess, he not only became a tyrannical king, but also declared himself to be a god. Let’s now consider some of these points.

Nimrod was the first man on earth to become a political totalitarian despot. After the flood, and the animals left the ark, they rapidly multiplied, and many of the carnivores were a threat to human life. Nimrod was a big, strong, fearless, and “mighty hunter” who helped deliver the people from the fear of those beasts.

Historians tell us that Nimrod developed a following because of his ability to protect the people, becoming an instant leader. He and his mother-wife, Semiramis (we’ll get to her in a moment), were the first to contrive the idea of gathering the people into walled cities to protect them from the wild beasts, so he claimed. Actually, he found that if he could contain his subjects behind large stone walls, it was easier to control them. We see this same Satanic influence to control others down through the ages of history, even up to our so-called modern and “enlightened” age.

This mighty hunter
establishing himself as the world’s first king, and became the founder of the first political form of government. As a display of his power and authority, he wore what some believe was the first crown of royalty. It was the top part of a skull of a bull with its HORNS still attached. (Right: Artist conception of Nimrod.) Most likely, because of Nimrod’s crown with a horn, which people became familiar with, Holy Writ’s metaphor for a king is expressed in the term of “horn,” such as mentioned by the Prophet Daniel.

Nimrod is described as extending his kingdom from the land of Babylonia in the south to Assyria, some 250 miles to the north. This seems to fit what we know of him from history, he “being a native of Ethiopia and traveling widely among those of his day.” He is accredited with founding four cities, one of them being Nineveh. His empire at first was Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh in the land of Shinar; from there he pushed out into Assyria.

According to Genesis 10:11, Assur is accredited with building the great city of Nineveh and its suburbs of Rehoboth, Calah, and Resen. According to Genesis 10:22, Asshur was the second son of Shem. The name, Asshur, is the Hebrew form of Assyria. Although Asshur might have been the original founder of the province known as Assyria, one kind of wonders if, perhaps, Nimrod was the real builder of the actual city of Nineveh, he being a great builder of walled cities, such as the city of Babylon.

This same Nimrod is believed to be one of many gods who had other names attached to him, one of them being that of “Ninus.” The Jewish Historian, Josephus, believed that Ninus was the same biblical figure as Nimrod. The city of Nineveh was most likely named after that name, Ninus, instead of Nimrod. I guess it makes little difference from which individual Nineveh received its name, since both names refer to the same historical figure. As stated, Nimrod had other names applied to him, one of them was that great historical figure and codifier of laws, Hammurabi.

Freemasonry claim that this Nimrod was the founder of what is known today as the lodge of Freemasonry. Albert Mackey, in his History of Freemasonry, states on page 601 that, “The Legend of the CRAFT in the Old Constitutions refers to NIMROD as one of the founders of Masonry...” Consequently, Assyria was known to the Jews as “the land of Nimrod” (Micah 5:6), and was believed to have been first settled by people from Babylon.

The mighty Nimrod won all the wars he created. He and his companion, Chedorlaomer (Gen. 14), along with other kings, laid waste to all of Syria and subdued the offspring of the giants. After winning the war between the sons of Ham and the sons of Japheth, at the age of about 40 he was made king over all the people. His empire flourished as he turned his kingdom into a tyrannical order, which was about the same time Abraham was born.

Within the next few years, as God divided the earth and confounded the language of the people (Gen. 10 & 11), they separated by language into different parts of the world as the world was divided into various continents during the days of Peleg. Chedorlaomer left Babylon and formed the Elamite Empire in Iran, later to become known as the Persia. At that time Nimrod finished building the city of Babel and constructed the cities of Erech, Accad, and Calnah.

Chedorlaomer, along with a combination of other kings, attacked the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, which are captured along with Lot. Abraham then attacked and slaughtered Chedorlaomer and the coalition of kings at the “valley of Shaveh,” freeing Lot and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah (Gen. 14). It was after this event that Abraham received his great blessing from Melchizedek, king of Salem, and paid “tithes of all.” (Gen. 14:18-20.)

Over time, the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah became exceedingly wicked. The people of Sodom and Gomorrah observed the four seasonal pagan holidays, with dances, timbrels, and orgies. They kept getting more wicked until, 391 years after the flood, the LORD destroyed those cities of the plains (Gen. 19).

Usurping the Patriarchal Order
What was God’s established order? It was the “Patriarchal Order.” The first form of governing was the Patriarchal Order; where the head of the family, the father, teaches and governs his children in the ways of God, and in like manner, those children taught their children, and so on. There was no po
litical or religious structure as we know them today, but simply an order from father to son on down the line of posterity without interference from any political or religious structure.

We have only a few words in Scripture about Adam and his family, and just a smattering about Cain and his. But we have much more information about Noah, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and the early Patriarchs. We also have information concerning Nimrod. We do not need to speculate concerning him; the Bible, and crude history, tells us that he was the first political figure in history and the first to organize a structured religion. And it was from this God-ordained family structure, the Patriarchal Order, that Nimrod rebelled. He moved out of the Patriarchal structure, which was God’s ordained, into a non-familial system of government, taking power unto himself to govern and control his people as an oppressive tyrant.

Nimrod sought, as did Cain, to overthrow God’s family-centered order; the social system in which obedient families were the source of all order and prosperity. Nimrod sought to establish cities of oppression in the place of godly families like Noah’s or Abraham’s.

Under Nimrod, society passed from the Patriarchal family structure, in which each separate family honored and followed its natural family head. This Patriarchal structure was supplanted by tribes or clans, wherein the leader gained dominion by conquest instead of natural birthright.

Franz Delitzsch (1888) has his view of Nimrod as the first political leader: “What the narrative has in view is not the greatness of Nimrod as a hunter, but his importance as the founder of a State. The hunter without equal was also the first monarch.” And John P. Lange (1864) suggests that the change from family government to the domination of the political State must have been by conflict: “This establishment of an empire transforming the Patriarchal clan-governments into one monarchy is not to be thought of as happening without force. The hunter becomes a subjugator of men, in other words, a conqueror.”

Was there a political State at the time Nimrod left the family’s Household of Faith? Does the State have any other origin than in Nimrod’s Babylon? Clearly, the departure from Patriarchal society came about through Nimrod’s apostasy. John Gill (1763) comments on Genesis 10:8, and wrote:

“He began to be a mighty one on the earth; that is, he was the first that formed a plan of government, and brought men into subjection to it; for this refers not to his gigantic stature, as if he was a giant, as the Septuagint renders; ... but to his civil character, as a ruler and governor: he was the first that reduced bodies of people and various cities into one form of government, and became the head of them; either by force and usurpation, or it may be with the consent of the people, through his persuasion of them. ...”

There was no government, as we know the government today, before Nimrod. He did not bring us government, he brought us “the government,” and he brought us “the State.” However, before
Nimrod, there WAS a well governed social order, and the source of this society was the family governed by the “Patriarchal Order.”

Semiramis: Mother-Wife of Nimrod
According to ancient
Egyptian and Babylonian traditions, Nimrod’s mother was Semiramis. This same Semiramis is reputed to also be his wife. The facts concerning this woman are a real enigma. From all the folklore surrounding her, it is unlikely that anyone can discover her real story. History points out one thing that seems certain, and that is that Nimrod had a wife by the name of Semiramis, but that’s where the certainty ends. The first thing we will note about this legendary queen, Semiramis, is that she had other name deviations such as Semiramide, Shamiram, etc. (Above: Artist conception of Semiramis.)

It was said of her that she was a perfect figure of a female with strikingly beautiful features, and she displayed a commanding presence with a powerful charisma. She was wicked enough to capitalize on these traits to accomplish her own personal and selfish ends, being extremely politically ambitious, immoral in her personal lifestyle, and sinister beyond all measure in her demonically evil aspirations. In deed, in all the world history that this author has studied, which is quite extensive, he has never found a woman in all those chronicles that had such a far reaching and long lasting influence upon ALL of mankind – from the great deluge up until present day – than that of Semiramis; and this with consideration and all due respect to the humble Mary, the mother of the Babe of Bethlehem. As the reader works through the remaining parts of this work, the reasons behind this statement should become obvious.

It is claimed that she, like the fishes, somehow survived the great flood. The author, Bryce Self, states that, “The name Semiramis is a later, Hellenized form of the Sumerian name ‘Sammur-amat’, or ‘gift of the sea.’ The initial element ‘sammur’ when translated into Hebrew becomes ‘Shinar’ (the biblical name for lower Mesopotamia), and is the word from which we derive ‘Sumeria’. This one woman had such a lasting impact upon world history that not only do we call the land from which civilization sprung, by her name, but God, himself, through scripture, lets us know that this land’s distinguishing characteristic was that it was ‘the Land of Shinar,’ the land of Semiramis.”

There are legends that keep surfacing that makes it difficult to arrive at the truth concerning both Nimrod, Semiramis, and her son Tammuz, neither of them too savory. The prevailing one being that Nimrod’s wife was actually his mother, the former wife of Cush. When Nimrod was a young boy, his mother, Semiramis, desired him and married him when he grew to be a mighty hunter. Semiramis, according to widespread accounts, was as evil and demonic, if not more so, than Nimrod himself; and both contrived a system whereby the two of them would be objects of worship as god and goddess.

Semiramis is the original mother of all the fertility goddesses. She is Isis, Diana, Artemis and all of the other goddesses throughout history they all are this woman, Semiramis.

Nimrod and Semiramis, the Founder of Religion
Not only was there no political State before Nimrod, there was also no religion or religious order. As stated, the only persuasion of godly faith was the family, the Patriarchal Order. There was no religious or church structure as we know it today, but their relationship with God was where the Patriarchal father taught his children to have a one-on-one relationship with their Creator without intervention from any religious hierarchy or authority. God was at the top of the structure, and man owed allegiance to no earthly figure; only that he honored his earthly father’s position as Patriarch of the family. Like Cain, it was at this component of the Patriarchal family structure, the element of a personal faith in the one true God, without the meddling of anyone else, that Nimrod struck in rebellion.

According to Jewish legend, Nimrod and Semiramis feared the prophecy that a child was to be born (to become known as Jesus Christ) who would turn the people back to God. In an effort to preserve their kingdom, it is estimated that they slew some 70,000 babies in hopes of killing the would-be savior, much like King Herod attempted to do just after the birth of the Babe of Bethlehem.

The story goes that Abram of Ur was the prophetic child through whom the promised messiah would come. Although Nimrod’s motive was to keep the promised child from ruling, he used the fear of the wild beasts as a pretense for uniting the people. Presenting himself as savior from such threats, Nimrod convinced the inhabitants to look to him as the lord of the earth instead of toward the one true God.

Nimrod and his mother-wife soon began to lead people away from Noah’s God. They built an astrological system for studying the stars, occultism, and devil worship. Among other things, they developed astrology, and laid the foundations for black and white witchcraft. They also set up 12 gods of wood after the 12 months of the year (or after the Zodiac), commanding everyone to worship one of them each month.

Their temples were staffed by priests, priestesses, musicians, singers, castrates, and hierodules (temple prostitutes). Various public rituals, food sacrifices, drunkenness, and revelry took place there on a daily basis. There were monthly feasts and annual New Year celebrations. During the New Year revelries the king, acting as the resurrected fertility god, Dumuzi, (a name we will consider later in more detail) would be married to Inanna.

History clearly shows that it wasn’t long before these counterfeit religions permeated the whole world, and is the basis for every system of idolatry and point of mythology, although the na
mes of the gods may differ because of language change and geographic vicinity.

The Tower of Babel
Although it was actually
Cush who originated the idea of building a great tower to heaven, it was Nimrod who was master of its construction. It’s in the Eleventh Chapter of Genesis that we read the most popular account of Babylon and its infamous Tower. The Tower of Babel was built for the purpose of studying stars and astrology in defiance of God to escape and survive another flood if the Creator should send one. (Above: The Tower of Babel, by Pieter Bruegel, 1563.)

The Tower had a Sumerian name, “Etemenanki” or “Etermenank, meaning, “House of the foundation of Heaven and Earth.” It was a massive type of building called a “ziggurat” which had, by various accounts, seven or eight levels. These levels were a series of terraced platforms, each smaller than the one below it, and all together reaching a great height, some 92 meters high.
The historian, Herodotu
s, wrote of this Tower of Babel in 440 BC: “It has a solid central tower, one furlong square, with a second erected on top of it and then a third, and so on up to eight. All eight towers can be climbed by a spiral way running around the outside, and about halfway up there are seats for those who make the journey to rest on.”

The construction of the tower was, in some way, connected to a religious system of false Gods. At the top was a shrine to Bel, whom the people worshiped as “the Most High god,” the god of the sun and of fire. Other “sky gods” were also included. Both Nimrod and his mother/wife, Semiramis, established themselves as the gods Marduk and Astarte. (Left: The Tower of Babel could be considered an astronomical observatory.)

Genesis 11:4, in speaking of “a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven,” has a more literal translation which reads, “a tower and his top with the h
eavens.” This does not refer to the height of the tower, but instead to the inscriptions on the walls of the shrine at the top of the tower. The constellations were painted or engraved on those walls with the outlines of the “sky gods” on them. These inscriptions and art works were to encourage people to associate the “pictures in the sky” with the images Nimrod wanted them to worship. Such was some of the occult deception which reigned in Babylon.

On the high
est terrace was a temple dedicated to the supreme Babylonian god, Marduk. The historic Louvre tablet (tablet now in the Louvre Museum of Paris) informs us that there were several cult rooms. Marduk and his wife, Sarpanitum, shared a room. Another room was for the scribe-god, Nabu, and his wife, Tashmetu. There were also other rooms: one for the water-god, Ea; one for Nusku, the god of light; the god of heaven, Anu, had one; and, Enlil, the predecessor of Marduk had one. Still, there was a room called the “house of the bed” which contained a bed and a throne. (Left: Marduk and his snake dragon from J. Black & A. Green, Gods, demons and symbols of ancient Mesopotamia, 1992.)

In his work, Witness of the Stars, E. W. Bullinger reveals the true meaning of what we call “the signs of the zodiac.” They were meant to be pictures in the sky representing God’s promise of a coming Deliverer who, being the Seed of the Woman, would bruise the serpent’s head (Gen. 3:15). For this purpose, God gave the s
tars as “lights ... for signs and for seasons” (Gen. 1:14). Signs, from the Hebrew word, “owth,” means “evidence,” “token,” “in the sense of appearing”; seasons from the Hebrew, “yowm,” means “a space of time...,” or as some interpret it, “appointed time.” The signs of the zodiac, or “sky pictures,” are meant to serve as “evidence” that at God’s “appointed time” the event promised of the coming Deliverer would occur.

God decided that the perversion of the celestial witness was an attempt to extinguish all hope in man for redemption – this He would not allow. “This they begin to do, and now nothing will be restrained from them which they have imagined to do” (Gen. 11:6) indicates that unrestrained evil was about to be unleashed. So God defeated all of their des
igns by confusing their one language into many and scattering the people across the divided earth.

From Genesis
we read: “And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech. And it came to pass as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and they dwelt there. And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime they had for mortar. And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded. And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech. So the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth; and they left off to build the city. Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the Lord did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the Lord scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.” (Genesis 11:1-9.)

The Esagila
South of the Tower of Babel, another huge complex was built in Babylon to honor Marduk; it was called the Esagila, or Esagil, which in Sumerian means, “The house that rises its head.” The Esagila complex was in the center of Babylon. The shrine itself, consisted of two sacred rooms: an anteroom and the “holy of holies” where the priests served the cult statue of Marduk. Alexander the Great ordered restorations of the Esagila, and in the first century BC, the Esagila was still functioning.

Originally, Marduk was the god of the city of Babylon, but in about the eighteenth century BC, Marduk became the supreme god of all Mesopotamia. In the first millennium BC, his name was considered so holy, that it was almost never pronounced; instead, people said and wrote Bêêl — meaning, “Lord.”

The legends say that the other gods were subject to him, and he defended them from the evil monster, Tiamat. After killing Tiamat, Marduk brought order to the cosmos, created mankind, and built the Esagila. It is also stated that all other gods are only manifestations of Marduk. During their New Year celebrations, called the “Akitu festival,” the Babylonians remembered how Marduk had created order in the universe. The heart of this cosmos was considered to be Babylon, with the Esagila shrine being the center of the universe.

As many researchers have discovered, and historical documents verifies, the world’s major non-Judeo-Christian religions can be traced back, ultimately, to ancient Babylon, showing that polytheism (belief in multiple gods) emerged from monotheism (belief in a single god). Satan is known as the father of lies which “deceiveth the whole world” (John 8:44, Revelation 12:9), and Nimrod was the human “father” of all false religion, including Buddhism, Hinduism, Zoroastrianism, the Egyptian mystery religions, and the like.

Death of Nimrod
Nimrod’s accomplishments were so monumental that the kingdom of Babylon was represented by the head of gold amongst all world governments, as described in the Book of Daniel; and the scripture identifies Babylon with Satan in Isaiah Chapter 14 and in Revelation Chapters 17-18.

Although the flood helped cleanse the earth of wickedness, it did not eradicate man’s sinful nature. Nimrod was an oppressive ruler who was vile, bloodthirsty, warlike, and extremely self-aggrandizing. He opposed God, usurped Patriarchal rule, and established himself as the first dictator-king in all of history. But in the height of his power, Nimrod died a violent death — a death which is somewhat shrouded in mystery.

Nimrod was put to death by Shem, the son of Noah, who was also known as Melchizedek, king of Salem. But what brought about the death of Nimrod by the hand of Shem? The actual reason being lost to history, their can only be conjecture. But knowing Nimrod’s desire to spread, not only his political influence by conquest, but his Satanic pagan religion as well, could it be that he might have gone too far in this regard with Salem, and Shem, being appalled by his nephew’s evil deeds, found cause and opportunity to put an end to Nimrod’s nefarious proliferation of Babylonianism?

Not only did Shem kill Nimrod, but his body was cut in pieces and sent to various parts of his kingdom. Queen Semiramis had all of Nimrod’s body parts gathered, except for one part that could not be found; that part was his penis. Semiramis claimed that Nimrod could not come back to life without it. She told the people of Babylon that Nimrod had ascended to the sun and was now to be called “Baal,” the sun-god. Semiramis developed the Satanic religion of Baal worship and proclaimed that, from now on during worship, Baal would be present on earth in the form of a flame, whether candle or lamp.

This story of Semiramis trying to find the pieces of Nimrod’s body-parts spread to other cultures. For example, the story of Osiris and Isis of Egypt is basically identical to the Babylonian story of Nimrod and Semiramis. In the Egyptian story, Isis reconstructed Osiris’ body which had also been cut up into pieces. Isis found all the body parts except for, you guessed it, Osiris’ penis. Isis then claimed to have had a son by him whom she named Horus.

Tammuz: The Promised Messiah?
Somewhere along
the line, after the death of Nimrod, Semiramis had all of her people believe that Nimrod had become Baal, the sun-god. Also, sometime after his death, she bore another son of an adulterous relationship. To keep her position, she devised a scheme to cover the details of Nimrods death. She proclaimed that:

1. Nimrod’s death was voluntary and self-sacrificing for the benefit of all people.
2. Nimrod, now Baal the sun god, would rise from the dead in some miraculous way.
3. She was a virgin and her pregnancy was an immaculate conception by the rays of the sun.
4. The sire of this coming child was the sun-god, Baal (Nimrod).
5. Nimrod’s rising in the form of her son was the fulfillment of prophecy (Gen. 3:15).

The name of this other illegitimate son was Damu, which later became Dammuzi, or Dumuzi; the name is Tammuz in Hebrew
, and Adonis in Greek. The word Tammuz is believed to be a derivative of two words: (1) TAM; meaning to make perfect or to perfect, and (2) MUZ; which relates to fire and light, such as the sunlight.

Tammuz, or Dumuzi, is also referred to as Bacchus by many ancient writers. The name was symbolic of the grain being turned into wine or beer. The wine was put into jars and stored underground, which was referred to as the “netherworld.” When the tanks ran dry, the gods of wine and beer failed and you had to arouse or resurrect them with wine and music to restore the harvest. This religion, which began in Babylonia, was adopted throughout the world, especially by the Greeks and Romans where Bacchus was known as the God of Wine and revelry; earlier called Dionysus by the Greeks.

At other times Tammuz, or Dumuzi, was known as Ichthys, referring to a fish or fisherman. The son of Semiramis was not a fisherman, but in the story of Jesus we have the “fishers of men” and the identification with the fish as the symbol of the original Christians. (At Right: Tammuz from Petra of the ancient Arabs. At Left: The Winged god Tammuz, Divine god of life of the ancient Nabatean Arabs.)

So Semiramis developed the Satanic religion of Baal worship, and maintained that this son was the reincarnation (return or rebirth) of Nimrod and was to be their savior. So both Nimrod and Tammuz became deified as gods; and the people bought it. As in all ages of history, Satan presents a counte
rfeit of the real thing. In this case it is a “false” savior to lead the people away from the true Savior, Jesus the Christ, who was to come in the Meridian of time. Also, the introduction of a false concept, that of “reincarnation,” was perpetrated. The importance of this figure, Tammuz, together with Nimrod and Semiramis again, will be covered in another study.

Having developed the city of Babylon into one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, Semiramis was the real mastermind behind the Babylon “Mystery Religion.” She developed a system of a celibate Priesthood which was answerable to only her.

As the mother of a baby king, who naturally was too young to rule, Semiramis usurped the throne and reigned in his stead. As wicked as Nimrod was, Semiramis appeared to be far more cunning. The true concept of the One to come to suffer and die for sins of mankind (Jesus Christ), His eventual resurrection, and his ascending into Heaven as Lord of all was known, along with many other truths, were usurped by this tarnished queen. Through the influence of Lucifer, Semiramis corrupted many of these truths in order to establish her own influence over the people. And since only a god can begat another god, she became deifi
ed as the mother of god, and called “The Queen of Heaven.” And because she is supposed to have survived the great flood as did the fishes (“Sammur-amat,” meaning “gift of the sea”) she became deified as a goddess of the sea, being, as supposed, the daughter of the fish-goddess “Atargatis.”

By many accounts, Simeramis was identified with the moon, and moon worship as can be seen by the names of Allilah or Allah.
Her influence was, and still is, so great that, even today, she is still honored in various ways. For instance, The Semiramis Hotel (pictured at right) has fairly recently been opened in Cairo, Egypt. Another name she has been known by is, Cybele, a goddess with the 12 stars around her head as is represented by the European Union today. She was also worshiped as “Rhea,” the great mother of the gods. And the grandest of all, she has been know, and still is known, as the “Queen of Heaven,” which is the name of the goddess who is slated to be the main worship figure of the new proposed One World Religion that is currently being formed in these last days for all mankind to accept.

Such events in the life of Semiramis laid the groundwork for all of the ancient pagan religious systems, as well as those of today. Semiramis was, either directly or indirectly, t
he original model for every goddess and female cult figure in the ancient and modern times. To help discern and understand the importance of that which follows, it is essential to have a little knowledge of the foregoing events.

In Summary
By a close study of Genesis, we can see that Nimrod most likely lived during the time of Peleg, the great-great grandson of Shem. And with a little reading of the tenth chapter, we find that it was during the days of Peleg that God divided the earth. (Gen. 10:25; 1 Chron. 1:19.) Considering the tremendous length of time most of them lived, just after the flood, the two of them must have been contemporaries with one another.

When God confounded the languages, He also divided the land so the people with differing languages would migrate and scatter from one another. As a result, they left off building the city and the great tower. The confounding of the language and scattering of the people happened when Abraham was about 45 years of age, some 337 years after the flood.

When the language and land was changed and divided, the various people took their false religion with them, with all its gods, beliefs, customs, relics, and false traditions. Although the names of the various gods and traditions may have changed, they still echo back to old Babylon and the first post-deluge world emperor, Nimrod. Among other names, he was also known as Tukulti-Ninurta I, the founder of Nineveh and ruler of the world within what has become known as the “Golden Crescent.”

Proving all the details of these three legendary characters, Nimrod, Semiramis, and Tammuz, is difficult, if not impossible. Yet their footprint can be found in ancient historical text and records, including the Holy Bible.

And what of that great structure Nimrod built to reach the heavens? God did not totally destroy it, but left part of it molding in the dust as a monument to the futility of man’s vain pride and self-aggrandizement, and as a towering reminder that man is nothing without his Creator, the one true God.

Although we have touched very briefly upon Nimrod’s creation of the political State, it is upon his and Semiramis’ founding of the “first” organized structured religion that will be the central focus of study from this point forward. And as it will clearly show, the influence of both Nimrod and Semiramis extends from the ancientest of times after the great flood until modern times, with idols appearing featuring mother Semiramis and baby Tammuz, prefiguring the Virgin Mary and baby Jesus. Indeed, modern-day Roman Catholicism, with its 2000 year influence upon the world, can be listed among those pagan religions whose roots extend clear back to the rebellious Nimrod and his mother-wife, Semiramis, of ancient Babylon.
Study 2:
Types and Shadows: Part I

The two chapters entitled, “Types and Shadows,” will cover various doctrine, traditions and rituals of the Roman Catholic Church — some of which have been adopted by the Christian world at large — and the Babylonian source from which they spring. This Part I will cover five prime dogmas, and Part II will touch upon some of the others, but not all. However, NO attempt is made at trying to address each and every one. These studies, along with the others in the series, are only an attempt to show the Paganistic Babylonian influence upon Roman Catholicism, and modern Christianity. Many ancient events were a “type” of that which exists today, foreshadowing that which was to come in the future. Such types and shadows will help identify the great Whore and Beast of Revelation pertaining to “end times” prophecy.

Trinitarianism

The Holy Trinity (three-gods-in-one) concept first appeared in ancient Babylon with Nimrod, together with Semiramis and Tammuz. They became the model for the pagan concept of the three-in-one Godhead and following Holy Trinity of Christianity. In truth, it can rightly be termed, the Unholy Trinity.

Down through history these three have became identified with various names. For example, Nimrod has been known as, Abir or Aber, a winged god; Baal, the Babylonian sun god; Bel, B
al or Belus; Buddh of China; Cronus; Janus or Chaos of Rome; Maitreya; Marduk, the snake-dragon god; Moloch, god of death; the great Zeus, son of Cronus and supreme deity of ancient Greece; and identified by the Romans with Jupiter; and the list goes on.

Semiramis
became known by various names, such as Allilah or Allah, the moon goddess; Ashtoreth, the principle female deity of the Phoenicians; Astarte to the Assyrians; Cybele, a goddess with the 12 stars around her head, as is represented by the European Union today; Diane, mood goddess of the Greeks and Romans; Ishtar, the Babylonian sun goddess; Isis, an Egyptian sun goddess; Lady Liberty, as is represented by the Statue of Liberty with Tammuze’s flame of enlightenment in her hand, and Seven Horns on her crown as spoken of by Daniel the Prophet; Osiris of Egypt; Rhea, Goddess of the hunt; and Venus, the Goddess of love; plus many more. (Above right: A few ancient Triune gods of pagan origin such as Ra, Isis, Osiris of Egypt, and the Kampuchean Buddhist triune godhead.)

And, the grandest of all, “Queen of Heaven,” by which she has been known and still is known. The Queen of Heaven is the name of the goddess who is slated to be the main worship figure of the new proposed One World Religion that is currently being formed in these last days, of which ALL mankind is expected to become associated. This same female deity, because of her claimed immaculate conception, has also been known as the “Virgin Mother.”

Some of the names of Tammuz are those like, Bacchus, the god of wine; Cupid; Dagon, the fish god; Hercules; Horus and Osiris of Egypt; Ninus; Baal (Reincarnate); Shamash; Uhura Mazda; the White Centaur; and so forth.

Although many are not familiar with the name, Tammuz, the Bible makes mention of him in the Book of Ezekiel. In Chapter 8 the Lord is showing Ezekiel the great abominations of the House of Israel. Concerning one of those a
bominations he wrote: “He said also unto me, Turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations that they do. Then he brought me to the door of the gate of the LORD'S house which was toward the north; and, behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz.” (Ezek.l 8:13-14.) Along with the displaying of images and obelisks, they were worshiping and honoring Tammuz and the Queen of Heaven, as Jeremiah records. (The Jeremiah references we’ll get to shortly.)

Marduk
(another name for Nimrod and symbolized by the dragon-snake) is also known as the “trinity sungod,” consisting of the man-god (Baal or Bel) the female-goddess (Astarte or Isis/Ishtar) and the child-god (the reincarnation of Baal called Tammuz or Horus). Together they are often symbolized by the single “Eye of Horus,” which is pictured as an eye in a pyramid, as can be seen on the back of the One Dollar Federal Reserve Note. (Pictured left.) The Roman Catholic Church, Modern Masonry and Kabbalah use this symbol for their organizations, which should say a lot about the fundamentals of their beliefs and of the origin of those beliefs. (Right: The dragon crest of the Vatican is Marduk from Ancient Babylon.)

Unholy Trinity Adopted by Christianity
The Trinity is a continuation of the Trinitarian or Triune god system of old Babylon and continue to be espoused by many pagan religions today. Trinitarianism resulted in the Christian church when Emperor Constantine legalized Christianity and allowed all pagans to become Christi
an.

In that year AD 325,
Constantine lead the Council of Nicea in which the fundamental doctrine of the trinity was introduced, and during the council of Constantinople (AD 381) all facets of the trinity had been passed.

(At right:
A medal from ancient pagan Siberia, depicting a trinity god, can be found in the Imperial Cabinet of St. Petersburg.)

The unconverted pagans, who were NOT truly converted to Christ at all, brought into the assembly of Christian believers their pagan philosophies and practices. The pagan mind was skilled at “spiritualizing” most everything, and many of the early Church Fathers, such as the so called, St. Augustine, who had actually been a sun worshiper of the Manichaean sect, had all come from this breed of Trinitarianist.

A high percentage of the vast number of pagan cults had their Trinities with three key figures, also. Following is a short list of only a few of those Triune god systems from the past:

BABYLON: Baal, Semiramis, and Tammuz.
EGYPT: Amon Ra, Isis, and Osiris or Horus.
GREECE: Zeus or Apollo, Demeter or Athena, and Porsephene or Nike.
MACEDONIAN and ASIAN: Dagon, Cybele, and Deoius or Janus.
ROME: Deus or Zeus, Venus, and Cupid.
MITHRAIC: Mithras, Rashnu, and Vohu Manah.
MANDAEN: Joshaman, Abatar, and Hibil Ziwa.
MANICHAEAN: Ohrmazd, Maitreya, and Zurvan.
CANAANITE or PHOENICIAN: Baal or Molloch, Asherah or Ishtar, and Rompha.
CHALDEAN and ZOROASTRIAN: Baal or Mithra, Astoreth; and Haoma.
PERSIAN: Shamash, Ishtar, and Sin.
CELTIC: Woden, Freya (Frigga), and Thor.
INDIA: Brahma, Shiva, and Vishnu or Krishna.
JAPAN: Shinto religion has the phrase, “San Pao Fuh”, which mens “one deity, three forms.”

Unholy Trinity and Protestantism
The Trinity concept has taken many differing names throughout the centuries, but originally the three names were Nimrod (Father), Semarimus (Mother and Queen of Heaven), and the son, Tammuz (the reincarnated Nimrod).

Since adopting the dogma, Roman Catholicism has twisted Trinitarianism and explains it away so well that Protestantism continued to buy it even after throwing off so many other Papal dogmas. However, the doctrine still remains confusing and illogical while at the same time being rationalized (rational-lies), excused, and hidden behind the cloak of mystery and the misinterpretation of Holy Writ.

The gospel of Jesus Christ is “simply beautiful, and beautifully simple,” as one person put it. “For God is NOT the author of confusion...” (1 Cor. 14:33) Said the Apostle Paul, and Trinitarianism is a false idea which is not scripturally sound, although scripture is wrested in an attempt to prove otherwise. Although true that God the Father, God the son, and God the Holy Ghost are all three gods, the concept that the three separate Gods are only one and comprising the “one true God,” or Holy Trinity come from pagan philosophy, founded in Babylon and fostered through the Roman church.

Unfortunately, the Protestant churches have continued the pagan work of the Roman Catholic Church and extracted a more biblical Trinity from the pagan Catholic trinity. Nonetheless, still neither our Holy Bible, nor the Apostles, nor Jesus speak of a “trinity.” Even so, the Protestants make a “three-in-one” god from God (The Father), the Son (Jesus) and the Holy Ghost. As stated earlier, in the original pagan trinity the Father is Baal (old Nimrod); the Son is replaced with Semiramis, who acts as intercessor; and Spirit is Tammuz.

From a biblical point of view it is evident, that Jesus and God are not “one-and-the-same-God” at all! The Bible speaks of “the Eternal Father,” and the “only begotten Son,” created by the Father. And the Bible goes on by telling, that Jesus was made equal in appearance to God, but Jesus laid down his equality to do the Father’s will, to sacrifice His life according to the will of the Father. “Who [Jesus] being the brightness of his [Father’s] glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.” (Heb. 1:3.)

Because of His faithfulness in suffering for our sins, Jesus received the same brightness and glory possessed by the Father, and being in the “express” image of the Father, just as Seth was in the image of his father, Adam (Gen. 5:3), he sat down on the right hand of the Father, not the right hand of Himself.

And “Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him. (Heb. 5:8-9.) Notice here that Jesus, the Son, had to LEARN obedience, and then He was MADE perfect. If he was indeed God as portrayed in the Trinity, would He not have already been “perfect,” and not have to learn to be obedient? There is much more that can help explain the TRUE concept of the Godhead, other than the Unholy Trinity dogma, but that is covered in another work.

Mental and Spiritual Conditioning
The basic reason of why the so called Holy Trinity, the Triune God, is so common is because it was part of the human psyche for such a long period of time, said Alexander Hislop in his book, The Two Babylons. He wrote: “While overlaid with idolatry, the recognition of a Trinity was universal in all the ancient nations of the world, proving how deep mated in the human race was the primeval doctrine on this subject, which comes out so distinctly in Genesis.” Among his thought on the subject Hislop expressed the fact that the teachings of the Assyrian, Babylonian, Hindu, and other Trinities are corruptions of the original patriarchal faith.

In modern-day terminology, one might say that the stubbornness in holding to such a false concept is due to generation-after-generation of those believing in such a dogma that in has become part of our DNA structure. However, no matter how one will wrest the scriptures in an attempt to justify that dogma, neither the Bible, nor Jesus or the Apostles talk of a Trinity. Why? Because it is not a true basic Christian tenet.

As proposed above, the modern Christian world has adopted this false Trinitarian idea of God as perpetrated by Roman Catholicism, and not from the Holy Bible. And they are still buying it.

With all their professed scholarship, the general Christian world appears to be, as the Apostle Paul would have put it, “Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth,” and “they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” (2 Tim. 3:7, an
d 4:4 respectfully.) As I read scripture, it appears that man has attempted to define God, not the other way around.

Madonna and Child
Many religious concepts and doctrines have come down through the years from the Babylonian religion. One primary doctrine is that of the mother-son relationship. Semiramis was first to be included in the pagan Trinity as the Mother with the seed of a divine son in her womb. As time passed, however, the father’s position as a god figure was diminished and the center of worship became the image of the mother with the god-incarnate son in her arms. As people were scattered throughout the world after the confounding of the languages, they took the legend that Semiramis had immaculately conceived and given birth to a promised savior of the people — Tammuz — Nimrod reincarnated.

Thus, all through the world, and long before the birth of the Baby Jesus, man began to worship a divine mother and god-child. The legend appears in different cultures, under different names, Ashteroth in Israel {Jeremiah 44:17-19), Isis in Egypt, Indrani in India, Cybelle in Asia, Ceres in Greece, Shing Moo in China, Hertha in Germany, Sisa in Scandanavia, to
mention a few. But the archetype and original model was Semiramis, the Queen of Babylon.

In his deified form, Nimrod, the sun god, is known as Baal. Semiramis, as the female divinity, would be called Baalti. This word, later translated into English, means “My Lady,” and in Latin it is “Mea Domina,” which becomes the name “Madonna,” the name by which Mary is often referred.

Tammuz over several centuries merged with Mithra, who then eventually became the divine mediator and Lord of light, truth, integrity, and the god of contracts and solemn oaths. These oaths were then sealed by solemn handshakes. He was also supposed to be the scourge of liars and covenant breakers. This mystery sun-worshiping cult of Mithra was a secret males only religion, while Ishter, the “Queen of Heaven,” and the moon goddess, became a parallel secret cult religion for women.

From Babylon the Madonna
and Child worship spread to Phoenicia under the name of Ashteroth and Tammuz, in Egypt the mother-child cult was known as Isis and Horus, in Greece it became Aphrodite and Eros, and in Rome this pair was worshiped as Venus and cupid.

Idols appeared featuring mother Semiramis and baby Nimrod, prefiguring the Madonna and Child — Virgin Mary and Baby Jesus. The image of the mother with child in her arms became so firmly entrenched in the pagan mind that it was quickly adopted by the Roman Catholic Church after Christianity arrived. And in the same way that the first or prime figure (the father) in the pagan trinities was NOT worshiped by the Babylonians or the Indian Hindus, the Roman Catholic church no longer worships the Father but instead emphasizes worship of the Mother and the Child.

After the decline of Babylon, the religion was transported to Egypt where the people worshiped Isis and her son Osiris (otherwise known as Horus). The same mother and child deities appeared in Pagan Rome as Fortuna and Jupiter, and in Greece as Ceres, the Great Mother, with the babe at her breast, or as Irene, the goddess of Peace, with the boy Plutus in her arms. Further similarities are noted in other cultures: in India, as Isi and Iswara; in Asia, as Cybele and Deoius; in Tibet, in China, and Japan where Hislop says that “Jesuit missionaries were astonished to find the counterpart of Madonna and her child as devoutly worshipped as in Papal Rome itself; Shing Moo, the Holy Mother in China, and a glory around her, exactly as if a Roman Catholic artist had been employed to set her up.” (The Two Babylons, Chapter 2.)

For Christians this dogma became the Virgin Mary and her baby son Jesus. The Christians argue that Semiramis and the other virgin mothers and god-children were all false images designed by Satan to lead people astray when the real thing came along. For the pagans, however, the religious symbols of their time were just as meaningful to them as Mary and Jesus are to the Catholic worshipers today. Nevertheless, the demonic counterfeit of the Madonna and Child was long in place before the real Mother and Child (Mary and Christ Jesus) walked the earth.

Thus began the mother-child Cult which later spread all over the
world. From the dispersion at Babel in Genesis 11, we see the Babylon Mystery Religion spread worldwide. Missionaries have been shocked to find “Mother and Child” worship in pagan countries where the Gospel has never been taken. It is, indeed, part of the Babylon Mystery Religion.

Mary and Female Worship
As stated earlier, Semiramis claimed to be a goddess and became known as the “Queen of Heaven.” Even though she maintained to have given birth to a savior, it was she who was worshiped as the mother of the gods, instead of her son. She also developed the idea that she, as the religious leader, was the only medium to God and heaven. This scenario is strikingly similar to the practices of Roman Catholicism where the Virgin Mary is worshiped as the Mother of God, and prayed to more than the true Savior, Jesus Christ.

There is recorded, in the Book of Jeremiah, where some apostate Jews were worshiping a female figure. The women back then were baking sacrifical cakes to this goddess called the “Queen of Heaven” (Jer. 7 & 44), which was most likely, Astarte, the real name being Semiramis.

“Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them, neither make intercession to me: for I will not hear thee. Seest thou not what they do in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem? The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.” (Jer. 7:16-18.)

During their Baal worship, the people of Judah were catering to the Queen of Heaven by making offerings unto her, which provoked the Lord to anger until He told Jeremiah not to even pray for these people, for He would not hear such intercession for them. In Chapter 44, the people declared that they would not stop such worship, but will continue doing as they have done. The consequences is entered in history, as Jeremiah recorded God’s response.

“But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil.” (Jer. 44:17.)

“Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying; Ye and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and fulfilled with your hand, saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her: ye will surely accomplish your vows, and surely perform your vows. Therefore hear ye the word of the LORD,... Behold, I will watch over them for evil, and not for good: and all the men of Judah that are in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by the famine, until there be an end of them.” (Jer. 44:25-27.)

The desire of the people of Judah was so strong to worship a female figure, that they brought down the wrath of God; and Biblical and secular history records the results. The author, Duffy-Boose, said that many people seek a religion in which feminine deity play a significant role, and nearly all pagan religions honor both gods and goddesses.

There are many groups of worshipers who focus on revered female figures who aren't usually seen as deity, but who “function as goddesses”; Mary Magdelene, for example, and even Lady Liberty, after which the Statue of Liberty is patterned; have all been the subject of worship in various ways.

Soon after Damasus was made “Supreme Pontiff,” Babylonian rites began to show u
p more prevalently in the Catholic Church. The worship of the Virgin Mary was established about A. D. 381. Pope Celestine I, AD 422-432, revamped the statue of the pagan goddess, Venus, renaming her Mary; calling her the “Mother of God.” He also renamed a large idol of Jupiter, calling it St. Peter. All of this, of course, thrilled the makers of graven images. Eventually, it was claimed that only the Priests were qualified to read and interpret Jerome’s Latin Vulgate Bible. Consequently, regular members became subservient and superstitious, being ruled over by power-hungry priests, and required to worship a pagan image of Mary. All of this, of course was part of Lucifer’s preparation for a One World Religion to be established during the end times, with him being worshiped as the supreme god.

Mary, the Queen of Heaven of the One World Religion
This false goddess, the Queen of Heaven, was often represented with 12 stars encircling her head. Not only worshiped throughout the ancient world, but still worshiped all around the globe by pagan religions today, although referred to by various names. The main figure of the European Union is the Babylonian goddess with 12 stars encircling her head (above). The EU poster (at left) has twelve inverted stars encircling a representation of the Tower of Babel which inverted stars represent the satanic pentagram of the Goat of Mendes (below right), and the flag of the EU is a blue field with a circle of 12 stars (below left). So, “right in your face,” they are letting us know who is in charge of the European Union — the Roman Catholic Church. The movement has been on for hundreds of years and is now gaining great momentum to bring all the world religions under one head, that of the Roman Pontiff.

Apparitions or supposed appearances of Mary have been alarmingly on the increase. What is most alarming is the message she espouses during the so-called appearances. Her message is clear, and people of all religions are beguiled by it. In their well documented book, Queen of All, the authors, have irrefutably demonstrated that the goal of these Mary apparitions are for the purpose of bringing together all world religions into one grand ONE WORLD RELIGION.

Whenever Mary appears she is referred to as “Our Lady,” and she appears in virtually every nation of the world. Here is a quote from a Mary apparition in Amsterdam, where she claims to be the “Lady of All Nations”:

“I am the Lady – Mary – Mother of All Nations. You may say, ‘The Lady of All Nations’ or ‘Mother of All Nations,’ who once was Mary. I have come precisely today in order to tell you that I wish to be known as this. Let all the children of men, of all the countries in the world – be one!” (Queen of All, p. 93.)

The apparitions of Mary predicts heavenly signs and wonders that the whole world will soon witness. Consider the following messages received by three separate visionaries as quoted in Queen of All, pp. 5-6:

“My sign is emerging. God wills it thus. Only my children recognize it, as it reveals itself in secrecy, and they praise the Eternal One for it. Today I cannot reveal my power to the whole world. I must withdraw with my children. In secrecy I will perform miracles on the souls until the number of sacrifices has become full. ...Then I can reveal myself to the whole world...”(Germany, 1946.)

“Soon, I will come, my children! Soon, I will be in your midst with a great light. I will enlighten the entire world. Many souls will cry because they did not listen to my call. ...I will come soon, my sons, to travel through the entire world.” (Italy, 1991.) (Compare with Zachariah 5, “Wickedness” who goes forth throughout the entire world.)

“I wish to also tell you that before my apparitions end completely, I shall be seen by every denomination and religion throughout this world. I will be seen among all people, not for just a moment, but everyone will have a chance to see me. As I appeared in Zeitoun, I shall appear again so everyone may see me. Pray and help my plans to be realized, not just here, but throughout the world.” (Maryland, USA, 2004.)

Pastor, Charles Dickson, authored a book entitled, A Protestant Pastor Looks at Mary. In it he explains how Mary worship is transcending our cultural and religious boundaries.

“A Muslim student visiting Rome wants especially to see the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore. Surprised? The poetry of a Syrian mystic is replete with Marian devotion. Surprised? Martin Luther recommended prayer to Mary. Surprised? An American Pentecostalist minister begins to visit shrines of Marian apparitions. Surprised? Muslims refer to Mary as il-Sittneh, or Our Lady. Surprised? A chapter in the Koran is named after her. Surprised? Mary’s deep kindness as a mother is portrayed in Chinese art. Surprised? And now a presbyterian minister has written a book recommending praying the rosary. Still surprised? ... a closer investigation of both past history and current events points out that Mary has a universal appeal that transcends our cultural, geographical, and even religious boundaries.” (A Protestant Pastor Looks at Mary, p. 60; QA, p. 10.)

In the well documented book, Queen of All, the authors state that, “In 2005, Time Magazine featured an image of Mary as The Mother of God on the cover with the title ‘Hail, Mary — Catholics have long revered her, but now Protestants are finding their own reasons to celebrate the mother of Jesus.’” Then the book offers the quote that shows the trend of Protestant churches toward Marian worship: “In a shift whose ideological breadth is unusual in the fragmented Protestant world, a long-standing wall around Mary appears to be eroding.. .Mary is also gaining popularity at Protestant divinity schools, where her icons adorn future pastors’ walls.” The article continues to explain such things as a Methodist church in Chicago that has two Mary images on either side of the altar with “roses at their feet, and hanging from the hands of the baby Jesus is a Rosary.” (Time Magazine, March 21, 2005, pp. 62, 68; QA, p. 11.)

An article in Time Magazine is commented on by the President of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, R. Albert Mohler, Jr. concerning the magazine’s cover story he said, “The Time cover story is part of a larger phenomenon, with many mainline Protestants turning to a reconsideration of Mary and incorporating the veneration of Mary into personal devotions and corporate worship. Some are going so far as to acknowledge Mary as an intercessor, addressing prayers to her as well as to other saints. Surprisingly enough, some Protestants now argue that believers should pray to Mary, and should request her intercession.” (The Christian Post, “Mary for Protestants? A New Look at an Old Question,”; QA, pp. 11-12.)

All of this may seem not only surprising, but shocking to most readers, but yet it is true. Old Satan is out in full force to bring about a change in the worlds religions into ONE, and only ONE, religion in the whole world — his religion. And the medium he is using in that effort, is female worship, Mary worship, a throwback to the Semiramis Queen of Heaven worship.

The late Pope John Paul, II, said about the “universal Church” in his book, The Threshold of Hope, “After my election as Pope, as I became more involved in the problems of the universal Church, I came to have a similar conviction: On this universal level, if victory comes it will be brought by Mary.” (QA, p, 215.)

This “universal” religion (universal, meaning Catholic) is designed, under the direction of the Papacy, to be the religion of the future New World Order; and this new one world government is slated to be the empire which will enforce Satan’s religion upon all people.

The Mass
The mass can be traced back into the Chaldean mysteries of Nimrod and Semiramis, and old Babylon. The object of the mysteries was to obligate all mankind to blind and absolute submission to the priestly hierarchy, and total dependence upon the sovereigns of Babylon. The success of it was dependant upon sneakiness and secrecy, and all knowledge, both sacred and profane, were to be monopolized by the priesthood.

The sacrifice represented in the mass is from the “unbloody sacrifice” of Venus. Tacitus, the Roman historian, says, “No blood was allowed to be offered on the altars of the erotic Venus. Its victims were used for the purpose of the ‘Haruspex’ but the altars were required to be kept pure from blood.” In ancient Rome, the Haruspex, who were the inspector of entrails, was of a lesser class of priests who professed to foretell the future by interpreting the entrails of the victim.

Now, the goddess queen of Babylon differs from her son, who was worshiped in her arms. He was represented as delighting in blood. She, on the other hand, was represented as the mother of Grace and Mercy, as the “Celestial Dove,” and as the Hope of the world. She was supposed to have been averse to blood and was depicted as a good and gentle character. Accordingly, one of the names she bore in Babylon was that of Mylitta, the “Mediatrix.” Modern Rome has bestowed the modern Mary with the same name, “Mediatrix.” However, I Timothy 2:5 says, “For there is one God , and one mediator between God and Men, the MAN CHRIST JESUS;” it doesn’t say “mediatrix” nor any woman by any name.

Now we can see how and why modern Rome represents Christ, the meek and lowly lamb of God who gives rest to the heavy laden, whose burden is light and who gives rest to the soul, the one full of grace and truth (Matt. 11:28-30; John 1:14-17), as a stern and hard judge before whom sinners are to grovel in the dust and never be sure of being heard. While at the same time, Mary is put in the most winning and enga
ging light. One Ligvori (1696-1787) tells his readers that sinners that venture to come directly to Christ may come with dread and apprehension of His wrath. “Let him only employ the mediation of the virgin with her son. She has only to show the son ‘the breast that gave him suck’ and his wrath will be immediately appeased.” Certainly that could not come from Luke 11:27-28.

Many pagan myths have a similar story. For example: in Hindu mythology, there is the god Siva and his wife Kali. When that god appeared as a little child we have an exact parallel. Siva “appeared as an infant in a cemetery, surrounded by ghosts, and on beholding him, Kali (his wife) took him up, and, caressing him, gave him her breast. He sucked the nectareous fluid; but becoming angry. In order to divert and pacify him, Kali clasping him to her bosom, danced with her attendant goblins and demons among
st the dead, until he was pleased and delighted.” It’s interesting that this son was thought to be the reincarnation of the husband, as Tammuz was a reincarnation of Nimrod.

When early Babylon start
ed to die out, and Egypt acquired the religion of Babylon, Egyptian priests imprinted the initials of Nimrod, Semiramis, and her son, Tammuz on the wafer-cakes which were then eaten as the priest placed the wafer on the tongue of the worshiper in a religious ceremony called the Mass. In Egypt, Nimrod, Semiramis, and Tammuz were known as Isis, Horus, and Seb, or Set. Thus, IHS were imprinted on the wafer cakes. The wafers are called the “Host.” To a modern-day Christian, the characters I.H.S. on the wafer are represented as meaning, “lesus Hominum Salvator” — “Jesus the Savior of men.” But to pagan Rome it meant: “Isis, Horus, Seb,” that is, “The Mother, the reincarnated child, and the Father-husband of the gods.” In other words, it’s the “Egyptian Trinity,” and top Romanish ecclesiastics know it. (Some wafer cakes have the cross imprinted instead of the IHS, as shown at right.)

The god whom Isis brought forth, and who was offered to her under the symbol of the round wafer cake as “the bread of life,” was in reality the fierce and scorching Sun, the terrible Moloch. Yet in that offering, all that was fearful and repulsive in him was shrouded in mystery. In the symbol of the round wafer cake, he is offered up to the kindly Mother, who tempers harsh judgment with tender mercy, and to whom all spiritual blessings are ultimately referred. And, blessed by that mother, he is given back to be feasted upon as the “bread of life” to the nourishment of her worshipers souls. Thus, the Mother was held up as the favorite divinity as she still is today. Consequently, the Queen of Rome, as the “Mother of grace and mercy,” eclipses her son in these attributes.

In the fourth century, when Mary was beginning to be worshiped in the Christian church, the unbloody sacrifice was introduced. When Osiris, the son god, became reincarnated and was born (as the case is with pagan mythology), it was not merely to give his life as a sacrifice for men, but that he might also BE life and nourishment of men's souls. The sacrament, or round wafer disk, represents the sun god, the symbol of Baal. The mass means “dismissal,” hence the dismissal of sins through the unbloody sacrifice.

The wafer cake of bread is called the Eucharist. In the celebration of the mass the priests are supposed to be invested with the miraculous power to transform a piece of bread into the very body of Christ, and the wine into His blood. The changing of one substance into another is called “transubstantiation.” Hence, the elements of bread and wine being changed into the literal body and blood of Christ constitutes the unbloody sacrifice of the sun goddess and not the Lord’s supper. This transubstantiation is represented as a “continuing sacrifice,” worshiped as though it were God Himself being sacrifices all over again.

According to Martin A. Larson, in his, The Story of Christian Origins, the words Peter (rock) and mass (sacrament) have significance in Mithraism. Mithraic adherents participated in a similar type of sacrament of wine and a bread wafer, called a “Black Mass.” In memory of Mithra, worshipers partook of a sacramental meal of bread marked with a cross on the top of it. This bread and wine meal is one of the seven Mithraic sacraments which was introduced as Catholicism’s “seven sacraments” called, in Latin, the missa, or Mass. Tradition has it that Mithra had his “last supper” with his twelve disciples, each one representing one of the twelve signs of the Zodiac. The Mandaeans also had “seven sacraments” in their pagan religion; among which were Holy Matrimony, the Eucharist sun-disc bread wafer, Confession, Holy Orders, and the Mass of the Dead.

This transubstantiation, the pretended changing of the bread and wine into the “literal” flesh and blood of Jesus, is nothing but “cannibalism.” His offering of bread and wine at the last supper was only a symbolic memorial, not a sacrifice, nor cannibalistic. He instructed His disciples to symbolically take bread and wine in “remembrance” of the sacrifice He was about to make. (Luke 22:19; 1 Cor. 11:24.)

This unholy transubstantiation is not the crucifying of Christ afresh, but the unbloody sacrifice that is implied in the mass that dismisses a man’s sins. The blasphemy of the celebration of the mass is that men can have their sins dismissed or pardoned with a bloodless sacrifice, which is directly contrary to scripture. This whole idea, of course, flies in the face of Hebrews 9:13-15 and 22.

In Egypt, as with modern day Catholicism, the small thin round disk, with either the IHS or a cross stamped upon it, symbolized the sun god, Mithra. What is interesting, ma
ny Christian churches still have this religious symbol of “IHS” on their church furniture, but have no idea of what it stands for.

Purgatory
Purgatory, a doctrine of the supposed "Mother Church” of Roman Catholicism, is supposed to be a place where souls go and suffer torture for a time before they enter into heaven; but what of its origin? Again, we can go all the way back to ancient Babylon for that answer.

Semiramis claimed her “mystery religion” possessed the highest wisdom and revealed “divine” secrets, and that members of her religion would be the only ones to enter heaven after completing a series of religious rituals beginning with sprinkling of water by the Babylonian Priest and ending with prayers for the dead. These became known as “Sacraments.” However, they taught that followers did not immediately enter heaven at death, but went to an intermediate place known as Purgatory.

The false doctrine of Purgatory held family and friends close and faithful to their Babylonian Priesthood, who were the only ones who could assure their loved one could move out of Purgatory into heaven. But a fee of some sort to that Priesthood, such as money or property, would help get their loved one out of Purgatory faster. The more money or goods “donated” to the Priesthood, the sooner the release from Purgatory. The “burning of candles,” and “prayers for the dead,” also helped free the dead from Purgatory. In his book, The Two Babylons, Alexander Hislop addressed this subject as it applied to Egypt. In Chapter Four he said:

“In Egypt, substantially the same doctrine of purgatory was inculcated. But when once this doctrine of purgatory was admitted into the popular mind, then the door was opened for all manner of priestly extortions. Prayers for the dead ever go hand in hand with interposition of the priests; and no priestly functions can be rendered unless there be special pay for them. Therefore, in every land we find the Pagan priesthood ‘devouring widows’ houses,’ and making merchandise of the tender feelings of sorrowing relatives, sensitively alive to the immortal happiness of the beloved dead. ... In Egypt the exactions of the priests for funeral dues and masses for the dead were far from being trifling.”

Wilkinson, an historian, noted a similar thing concerning the same thing in Egypt: “The priests induced the people to expend large sums on the celebration of funeral rites; and many who had barely sufficient to obtain the necessaries of life were anxious to save something for the expenses of their dead.” (Wilkinson, vol. 2:94; TTB, p. 169.)

This practice which began in the old Babylonian Religion, and carried over in Egypt, extended into Greece, Rome, and the eastern countries such as India, where it is said that “donations of cattle, land, gold, silver, and other things,” should be made by the man himself at the approach of death; or, “if he be too weak, by another in his name.” (Asiatic Researches, 7:239-240; TTB, p. 168.)

Of course this belief in Purgatory, coming down through the old Roman Empire’s Pagan religions, has been carried down into the Roman Catholic Church, and is known as “Indulgences.” Part of these indulgences, is that a special mass can be said for those in Purgatory. Of course, BIG “donations” to the Priesthood are required for such an event, but it will assure the dead a quicker transition from Purgatory to heaven.

An ex-Catholic Priest, Charles Chiniquy addressed this issue of Purgatory in one of his books entitled, The Priest, the Woman and the Confessional. On page forty-five he tells of a woman who had thrown herself into a river, from which her body was not recovered. About this event he said”

“Many public and private prayers were offered to God to help her escape from the flames of Purgatory, where she might be condemned to suffer for many years, and much money was given to the priest to sing high masses, in order to extinguish the fires of that burning prison, where every Roman Catholic believes he must go to be purified before entering the regions of eternal happiness.
“This practice is without a single justification or example from scripture. It was against these indulgences, along with many other practices of that church, Martin Luther fought. It is the culmination of the compounding of error consistently perpetrated by the Vatican that conned previous generations, along with the new, into accepting as truth what in reality is a deceitful devilish lie, with one of its purposes being to enlarge the Vatican treasury.
“Needless to say, the doctrine and practice of Purgatory has been a lie from the start and instigated for the continual betterment of the Church of Rome’s finances; a subtle way of “coughing up for the coffers,” one might say; echoing back to the money changers in the temple.
“The Roman Catholic Church has decreed all manner of ways to boost its image, power and control over its people. The burning of candles and prayers for the dead were said to increase the personal supply of grace, and earned an indulgence which spared the dead from a specified number of days in Purgatory. Of course we know the gift of grace is free and given of God to those who will accept it.
“What was it Jesus said to the thief on the cross? The words, ‘Today thou shalt be with me in paradise’ (Luke 23:43), clearly shows that at his death one would NOT go to such a place as Purgatory. A short while later before He breathed his last, Jesus said, ‘It is finished.’ The work of redemption, which he came to perform, has been accomplished, finished, not partially, but completely.
“But the Roman Church substitutes ‘indulgences’ for the gospel of Christ, and the Pope claims the right to control God’s divine will. Interestingly enough, even the Pope, himself, is not immune to Purgatory; no one is. He, also, has to be prayed-and-paid out of Purgatory and into heaven.
“A religion bound by the chains of Vatican-made dogmas and rituals nullify any gift of God’s grace people could have received. The doctrine of Purgatory makes death a nightmare for Roman Catholics as not only their emotions and spirits are drained, but their bank accounts, as well.

Closing Thought
All of this past history, of course, echos back as a type and a foreshadowing of things that were to come — when the whole world is to worship a female as the Queen of Heaven, Semiramis, who was part of the first Trinity. She was also the original Madonna, who had her adherents believed that she, alone, could administer salvation to the sinner through various sacraments, such as bowing the knee to her, the lighting of candles, the ringing of bells, the sprinkling of holy water, the paying indulgences, and the like. And what is sad, but true, is that eventually, if exposed enough to falsehoods, people are willing to defend what they have not investigated, and accept as gospel all manner of falsehoods.
